Project Background
Project footprint: 1,400 ㎡.
Daily sorting volume: up to 60,000 pcs.

The project is located in Spain, with the customer being an important express logistics service provider in Portugal and the Iberian Peninsula. In recent years, with the rapid development of e-commerce, the logistics service volume has grown significantly.

In response to market changes, the customer aims to rapidly build and upgrade the sorting center network on the Iberian Peninsula by procuring automated sorting equipment from Wayzim, to meet the growing demand for parcel processing.

Customer Pain Points
01
Insufficient capacity of current sorting equipment
As the demand for cross-border e-commerce and fast delivery services increased, the customer’s current sorting equipment cannot meet the rapid growth in business volume. The diversity of parcels and service pressure during peak periods (for example, Black Friday and holidays) require higher sorting efficiency.
02
Urgent need for rapid deployment
Logistics in the Iberian Peninsula is becoming increasingly competitive and the customer needs to rapidly expand and upgrade the sorting center network to be competitive in the market. Therefore, the sorting equipment is required to have the ability of rapid deployment to reduce construction time and cost, and be put into actual operation as soon as possible to support service growth.
Solution

Wayzim deploys a narrow belt sorting system solution to ensure that the sorting center can be built and put into operation in the shortest possible time through modular and standard sorting equipment design.

The system includes a Line-Scan 5-sided Scan Tunnel, a dynamic DWS system, 19 belt conveyors, centering conveyors, and merging conveyors (in various models), 34 sorting discharge points, and 392 carriers. With an operating speed of up to 1.8 m/s, the system has a maximum daily processing capacity of 60,000 items. While different types and sizes of parcels can be handled simultaneously, the system effectively reduces the customer's operating costs, improves operational efficiency and service quality, and enhances the customer's market competitiveness in the Iberian Peninsula.
